For this edition of In the Works, I decided to get a bit more into the weeds of the actual work since many of you have expressed interest in wanting to learn more about how I do what I do.
Much of my energy in the past few weeks has been focused on preparing my novel, “The Memory of My Shadow” for print. From the beginning, I’ve always been a DIY person and this project is no exception. In this video, I share my desktop and walk through different points in my process from first drafts and titles to querying agents and rejection to cover design and typesetting. I also share a practical use case for generative AI. And of course, the entire video is delivered with the trademark wit, charm, and eloquence that you’ve come to expect from these completely unscripted ramblings of mine.
