Ben I loved this entire video. I am always intrigued by the process others adopt for their writing, my own seeming to be entirely haphazard by comparison. I love that you write while walking since it's possibly the only time I have to really concentrate on my own, but therein lies the only similarity. I love the rift you composed, how you developed the music to fit the story, the maze...

I am really curious to listen to the first chapter now, not that I wasn't before!

Thanks so much, Susie! The writing while walking thing has been an important adaptation. I’m not nearly as fast as I am when I’m sitting in front of the computer, but I think I’m generating better ideas when I’m moving along a path.

Have not even listened yet but I nearly fell off my couch when I saw this! I'm sitting here watching I Love Lucy and snacking on Oreo Mint Thins. But now I have something MUCH BETTER to occupy my time! YAY!

Enjoy, Erica. 😊 I know you’ve been asking for another one of these for a while.

I’ve flagged this to listen but I wanted to add my excitement into the mix over here. Your process is unique and intriguing and your willingness to gut it for us all to see is a real gift. So looking forward to another Benventure.

Thank you, Kimberly. I try really hard to be dark and mysterious but it's just not working.

Can't wait for the new serial, Ben! Your previous serialisations (esp. with audio) became such a wonderful part of my week.

I haven't actually watched/listened to the above yet as I jumped straight to the comments here. Always enjoy hearing/seeing your process and talent on display, and I'm quite amazed about your process of dictation you mentioned when we spoke before Christmas.

Hey Nathan, thanks for stopping by. I’m getting excited about putting the new one out into the world next week. Hopefully, I’m getting a little better each time.

Beautiful work. The words, the music, the art. It is interesting to see your process. And I’m personally looking forward to this story, as are many of the creatives here, I’m sure.

Thank you, Shannon! I’m glad this was fun to watch. I always fear that these videos are too self-indulgent and that no one else will be able to relate so I’m glad that’s not the case.

All the elements are working together, here. This looks cohesive and beautiful, Ben. I'm so curious to hear the story unfold each week! It's my fav after work treat to kick back with just one chapter a week. That rhythm really brings depth to a story and its characters, and I have no doubt that this will be full of unique beauty and meaning. As always, thank you for reading it aloud for those of us who come home from work visually tired and just want to be read to.

I'm looking forward to sharing it with you, Ann. You're one of the people I have in my mind when I'm narrating. I think, how will this land with Ann after a long day of work? Thanks for always showing up here to support my work and Happy New Year!

What an honor, Ben, I'm so glad to know that. Happy New Year to you and your family!!

Wonderful. Love BTS, always. Can’t get enough. As a visual artist, I particularly enjoyed seeing your process with the artwork and hearing your thoughts on the various stages. It helps me appreciate the final one — which I totally agree is the best. I’m impressed and a bit intimidated by how rich it is.

You're too kind, as always, Julie. I'm glad you like the art. It's kind of incredible how big the palette is today. I still use the same techniques and compositing I've done for years in Photoshop, but having the ability to generate textures and elements to experiment with on the fly is kind of amazing.
