Oooof. Ben! If this emotional intensity keeps growing I might get an ulcer. But you know what? Within that fire, you also work in these beautiful, soulful silences. They live alongside each other quite well. Here’s one, and I found myself exhaling into that pause: “A silence fell between them as if to make room for little Marvin’s spirit to dwell momentarily before she took a breath and returned to the present.” Isn’t that part of the secret of this life? To make room for both? Even as irreconcilable as they may seem? Well done friend. Well done.

Yay, thank you, Kimberly. I'm so happy you're still engaged with the story. I've been procrastinating about writing the final two chapters, but the encouraging feedback from this episode is giving me juice to knuckle down and finish.

Oh Ben, wow this one has big big impact! I feel the end drawing near with this one, and even though we knew Wild knew that June's time was near, hearing her message at the end really landed a punch.

Thank you, Nathan! Yes we’re getting close to the end. About ten more chapters.

Oh Ben. This one truly brought up the tears.

I’m guessing that June found it some devastating news about her health, and Wild will not tell her that he already knew. How could he.

I have a whole storyline with Eileen but I’m happy to wait to see how it all plays out. What on earth is going to happen when Wild tells June? Or maybe her news will eclipse his and he’ll lose his nerve. 🤔

It would be fun to see where you and everyone else reading along predicts how the story will end.

Whoa. You are soooo good with the twists. I’m glad Eileen was back for this chapter. And I’m scared along with Wild to learn what’s going on with June.

Thank you, Holly. The twists are simply an adaptation to survive when you fly by the seat of your pants.

That plus some mad storytelling skills seem to pair well. ;)
