This reminds me of Ray Bradbury. He liked to put normal people in otherwise normal situations, except for that one little thing...

One could do worse than be compared to Ray Bradbury on a Tuesday morning. 😁 thank you!

Trust me; it was meant as a compliment!

Yes! Such a great observation. It’s brilliant.

You spoil us with these double episodes, Ben.

I just love this. I'm already feeling the heartbreak that there's this romance there but Wild can't get near Juniper for fear of knowing her fate. 💔

Thanks Nathan. It is a complicated love story to be sure and it will only get more messy.

Wow, such a cool new dimension to bring in historical figures and their own life and death stories. I don’t know the incident surrounding Vaughn’s death but now I feel motivated to see what wiki has to say. In my research I wouldn’t be surprised to find a page on Wild, your character studies are masterful, so immediate and unstudied in their presentation. As real as it gets.

I think it was a plane or helicopter crash. Tragic. We used to go to Alpine Valley sometimes—it was a great outdoor concert venue in Wisconsin.

I was a huge fan of SRV fan back in the day and was crushed when he died. It was fun to pay a little bit of homage to him here.

Omg! I know Alpine Valley! Fellow Wisconsinite here.

Thank you, Kim. You’re making me blush. ☺️

This blew me away, Ben! I loved seeing Wild’s place at its beginning. Clever title. This is moving along beautifully. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Yay! I’m glad the pace is working. I’ve been worried that switching between the two timelines might be tough for people to follow over a serial. Fingers crossed 🤞 it works okay.

Somehow, the serial form enhances the experience. (note to self . . .)

The story here deepens, Juniper revealed while Wild -- wild the elusive and the far and the near. And the revelation of Jillian and his prediction. Super.

Thanks so much, Mary. There’s so much more to come with these characters in the coming months. Thank you for joining us.

Will do. Hoping to see you on _Who by Fire_ -- fixed with your help.

Brilliant inclusion of SRV. I wonder whether I’ll ever be able to stick to my initially steadfast plan of saving the ‘extra’ episode to enjoy on a different day. I managed a few hours today, but I needed to know Juniper’s reaction when Jillian’s date came around.

And oh, the complexity of this gift/curse within a romantic relationship!! 🙈 I hadn’t even thought of that!!

I bask in the glow of your impatience, Chloe. I think the romantic love dimension of this story is one that has me most excited about writing it at the moment.

How incredibly cool to include Stevie Ray Vaughan! Well done.

I continue to love this book. Thank you Ben

Yeah, it was fun to include one of my guitar heroes when I was young. It hurt to lose him so young.

As always I love your readings, Ben. And the music is perfect!
