Damn! Once again, a direction I didn’t see coming. And I love seeing this angle—another opening into two characters, another deepening of connections. What a gift these installments are, Ben!
This was a brilliant episode, Ben. So interesting to see those two together, navigating this wild and complex situation.
On another note, I was going to email you but I’ll just say it here, I was having a truly rubbish day yesterday, and I had half an hour between demands so I put this episode on and closed my eyes and got completely lost in it. Really it was like watching a tv episode of it, and it was such a relief to just be somewhere else for a little while that when it finished I felt as though I had been reset. So, a very sincere thank you. ❤️
That is a huge compliment. Great novels have always done that for me so it’s something I’ve aspired to in my own work. But until now I’ve never had a way of knowing my stories have that magical ability that I admire so much. Thank you for reading and thank you for sharing that.
What an uncomfortably intimate experience between Scott and Evangeline. I could feel both the grief/tenderness and the animosity toward each other. Feels like you might be mixing up some potent, or at least explosive, chemistry. 🎆
“You think people get rich and no one gets hurt? Did you really think you guys would just manufacture a million little houses out of thin air and save the world? That there wouldn’t be a cost?”
I have rarely read such a fraught, clear dramatization of the moment we’re in. The whole sustainability movement is loaded with such dark compromises yet mostly pretends otherwise. As long as we continue to approach it with the same mindset we’ve had in creating this mess, we will continue the damage.
F’ing brilliant, Ben. And with the added fun of things heating up between two complex, interesting relatable characters. Bravo.
Aw, thank you so much. You’re way too kind. I’m glad these teams are landing with you. In this story I really wanted to play with the many contradictions that plague all of us. The problems are complicated and so are the solutions.

Thank you so much, Holly. I really appreciate you reading and commenting each week.
"There was an inevitability he could not shake" is such a good line.
Another banger, Ben. This one breathes, allows a little space in.
I so admire all the connected parts you have woven together here.
I don't want to know how many are left, because this is such a part of my weekly routine now!
Thanks so much, friend. I'm so happy to be a part of your weekly routine. We've got about 10 more episodes together in Houze.
Ok, plenty of time for me to prepare myself 😀

Really glad to get this insight into Evangeline - the complexity of the story keeps building and building, along with the tension. 👍
Thanks Troy!

Thanks Kim, they are odd bedfellows aren't they? I couldn't resist. Thank you as always for reading and commenting.

This keeps getting more and more engaging. Can't wait to see what comes next.
Too busy yesterday! Can't believe I haven't listened yet. Will remedy ASAP.
